# TLDR Review: VIZIO 24" D-Series Smart TV (2022) *Published: 2024-11-01 | Updated: 2024-12-19 | Source: https://shopsavvy.com/reviews-tldr/vizio-24"-d-series-smart-tv-(2022)* --- ## Verdict The VIZIO 24-inch D-Series Smart TV offers great picture quality and a sleek design at an attractive price, making it a practical choice for small spaces or as a secondary TV. However, its software quirks, limited app selection, and sound quality issues may detract from the overall experience. Families might find the lack of parental controls and inappropriate home screen ads off-putting. For those seeking a more seamless smart TV experience, considering models with built-in Roku might be worthwhile. **Top pro:** Excellent picture quality, ideal for movies and shows. **Top con:** Home Screen displays inappropriate ads with no filtering options, a concern for family-friendly environments. ## Product: VIZIO 24" D-Series Smart TV (2022) **Brand:** VIZIO [Compare prices and price history on ShopSavvy](https://shopsavvy.com/products/vizio-24"-d-series-smart-tv-%282022%29) ## Pros - Excellent picture quality, ideal for movies and shows. - Slim and lightweight design makes it perfect for small spaces like kitchens or travel trailers. - Easy setup process enhances user convenience. - Affordable pricing for the features offered. - Simplified remote with essential buttons, promoting ease of use for elders or individuals with cognitive disabilities. - "Watch Free" feature allows quick access to content without needing to navigate apps. - Compact size fits well on counters or under cabinets. - Features two HDMI ports for additional connectivity. ## Cons - Home Screen displays inappropriate ads with no filtering options, a concern for family-friendly environments. - Limited app selection compared to other brands, hindering preferred streaming options. - Unreliable casting feature, often resulting in a gray screen. - Tinny and unclear sound quality may necessitate an external sound system. - Lack of parental controls reduces its suitability for family use. - Firmware updates can lead to unexpected issues, affecting usability. - Channel navigation quirks, like the inability to loop channel selection. - Occasional Wi-Fi connection issues, particularly within the first three months of use. - Problems with YouTube app disconnections during casting. - Built-in power supply cord may be inconvenient for some users. ## Pros vs Cons at a Glance | Pros | Cons | |------|------| | Excellent picture quality, ideal for movies and shows. | Home Screen displays inappropriate ads with no filtering options, a concern for family-friendly environments. | | Slim and lightweight design makes it perfect for small spaces like kitchens or travel trailers. | Limited app selection compared to other brands, hindering preferred streaming options. | | Easy setup process enhances user convenience. | Unreliable casting feature, often resulting in a gray screen. | | Affordable pricing for the features offered. | Tinny and unclear sound quality may necessitate an external sound system. | | Simplified remote with essential buttons, promoting ease of use for elders or individuals with cognitive disabilities. | Lack of parental controls reduces its suitability for family use. | | "Watch Free" feature allows quick access to content without needing to navigate apps. | Firmware updates can lead to unexpected issues, affecting usability. | | Compact size fits well on counters or under cabinets. | Channel navigation quirks, like the inability to loop channel selection. | | Features two HDMI ports for additional connectivity. | Occasional Wi-Fi connection issues, particularly within the first three months of use. | | | Problems with YouTube app disconnections during casting. | | | Built-in power supply cord may be inconvenient for some users. | ## Last Seen Prices *Each price is the last one ShopSavvy observed, between 2024-12-19 and 2025-01-21;
